The Buckley Hills Audubon Society is a member of the National Audubon Society and the Kentucky Audubon Council, and serves ten Central Kentucky counties in the promotion of conservation education and awareness.

The Society is named after Clyde E. and Emma Buckley, who founded the Clyde E. Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary in Frankfort, Kentucky. Read more about the history of the Sanctuary and the Society here.

Our Mission

The mission of the Buckley Hills Audubon Society is "To build an organization to support environmental education, conservation, and recreational programs for the mutual benefit of the National Audubon Society, the members of the Buckley Hills Audubon Society, and the Community."
